This year each student will have access to a netbook computer and most assignments will be completed on them. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOT VIOLATE OUR USER AGREEMENT AND LOSE COMPUTER PRIVILIGES! Be wise.
Homework Policy
There will be no assigned homework in Social Studies. However, it may become necessary to complete work outside of class if time runs short or one chooses not to use their class time wisely. Homework will be due the next day in order to be considered for full credit. From here handbook rules will apply. 10% of the score will be deducted for each day it is late until the assignment receives an âFâ. An assignment can not be done for any amount of credit if it is two weeks past due. Study for quizzes and tests are exempt from being considered as homework.

A Paperless Classroom
I am pleased to announce that once again this school year my classroom will be a paperless classroom. Each student will be assigned a netbook computer for use in the classroom for learning and completing of assignments. Students will be held to the highest standards of computer use and will hopefully enhance their knowledge of computers along with course content. I feel that as the world heads into an increasingly digital format, teachers need to prepare students to meet the demands of computer learning. Teaching in a blended classroom format will begin to prepare students for online learning where they will soon be taking an entire course online without a teacher in a classroom setting.
All coursework for my classes will be completed within the context of our Moodle cloud. That means that they will have access to textbooks, assignments and work anywhere in the world as long as there is an Internet connection. There are many resources found close to home in Marsing that can provide support if there is no Internet access in the home. The Lizzard Butte Public Library and the Computer Resource Center are two very good options.
At-Home Programs
During the course of the year, we will be using several programs here at school to complete assignments that you may not have on your computer at home. In order to open the assignments and complete them at home you may need to install one or more of these programs on your home computer. Each program is linked and will take you directly to the install page. All programs are guaranteed virus free.
